PODCAST LINK:  Story of a Birth Mother: Her Journey Through Adoption

In February 2022, I released my second book called I Am Third: Redeeming the Pain

This book is about our journey through parenting and adoption lived and written through the lens of our interracial marriage, multicultural and multiethnic family.

Found on Amazon in the USA, Canada and the UK. I have several copies here in India for those interested.

In every adoption story there are many people intimately involved. Bio parents, bio relatives, adoptive parents, foster parents and families, adoption agencies and services all around to help support the process and the child(ren) involved.

However, the first and primary decision begins with the Birth Mother when she chooses adoption for her child(ren).  Even though there are multiple reasons why a mother would choose this route, I have learned to not judge her for doing so, instead learning to walk alongside in any way I could.

I also am an adoptive parent and by reading my book, I believe you will come to understand the ups and downs of such an incredible opportunity to love a child created in another woman’s womb.  And about the journey to healing we all experienced as a result.

I debated about making the title “A birth mother’s journey TO adoption” but the reality is that their journey doesn’t stop there…it grows THROUGH the adoption process.

In Season 3 and Episode 2 of Growing Forward Together, Sue shares openly and honestly (sometimes through tears) about her journey from fear and denial to joy and acceptance.

Sue Hinojosa is a friend, mother, daughter, sister, widow, and birth mother. Sue is a podcast host for the show Positive Choice Adoption through Adoption Associates.

Although her story reveals many mountain tops and several valleys, she remains faithful to her faith in God. She has worked in the Title Insurance/Real Estate industry for 22 years. Sue is now a solo parent to their 15 year old son, since losing her husband Tony to Cancer.

Here’s to Growing Forward Together as we intentionally walk with those who have to make difficult decisions.
Blessings,
Kinita
Remember… we are human BEINGS, not human DOINGS. 🌿In our busy lives, it’s easy to get caught up in tasks and achievements. I have found that being busy is different than being productive! I used to often respond with “I have been busy” when asked how my week was. After evaluating my priorities and putting healthy boundaries in place, I now respond with “my plate was quite full” OR “it really was a productive week! This quote reminds us to pause, reflect, and focus on simply being—embracing presence, peace, and self-awareness. At Seema Global Consulting, LLC, we encourage growth that honors both your inner self and your journey.1) When was the last time you paused and focused on simply being?2) What does it mean to you to be a human BEING rather than a human DOING?📩 Want to explore personal growth and leadership in a deeper way?
