Other Platforms:  Here

The Enneagram is a great personality assessment tool to help us understand our personality and how we interact with others.  I love it because it helps me stay in check with my personal process and continues to reveal the changes, I need to make so I can stay emotionally healthy and live into my best self.

The Enneagram is made up of 9 personality types:

  1. The Reformer
  2. The Helper
  3. The Achiever
  4. The Individualist
  5. The Investigator
  6. The Loyalist
  7. The Enthusiast
  8. The Challenger
  9. The Peacemaker

I, along with my guests, are all Enneagram 8’s, The Challenger (aka: Leader/Challenger).

Not only are 8’s the rarest personality type, but they are also the most misunderstood, in my opinion.

Over the years, I have been deeply misunderstood in a lot of my relationships, although some of the misunderstandings could be attributed to cultural and ethnic differences, being a Leader/Challenger has been less than desired in my circles.

The Enneagram gave me language to help clarify why I am the way I am.  In fact, my husband and I genuinely believe that this small test saved our marriage. Not only did it it gave us deeper understanding of our wiring, but it also gave us freedom to live into our authentic selves.

Learning that I was an Enneagram 8, helped me to grow the confidence to be an entrepreneur and eventually a successful business owner and influencer in my communities.

Although there are many speakers and authors who have produced material on the Enneagram (resource links below), sometimes a conversation can bring about greater understanding.   I thought it would be fun to have a three-way dialogue about it with fellow Enneagram 8’s.

My guests today are Beth Fisher, and Cindy DeBoer!

Beth Fisher

Beth is the V.P of Communication and Advancement for Mel Trotter Ministries, a Grand Rapids, Michigan based non-profit.  She is a fellow author and speaker and transformational coach with a passion for helping others overcome adversity.  Her personal story and countless achievements continue to reveal that she is passionate about inspiring people to understand their true calling in their lives.

Beth remorselessly lives into her Enneagram 8 self and finds great satisfaction in it.

Cindy DeBoer

Cindy is a psychiatric nurse and a married mother of four.  In her spare time, she writes for her popular and timely blog, “Far, Far Better Things” where she reveals the gritty yet life-giving journey her family discovered as they began to live truer to their faith.

For years, Cindy fought the notion that she might be an Enneagram 8 and finally gave into the reality of it all.
